Christmas at The Abbots Mitre

Raring log fires and friendly welcoming staff provide a truly festive atmosphere, this combined with menus using fresh local produce, simmering mulled wine, warm mince pies and locally brewed ales make a celebration to remember.

Roast parsnip and rosemary soup with herb croutons

Salmon and crayfish crostini with a lemon and dill crème fraiche

Pulled short rib of beef croquette with a horseradish puree and red wine jus

Wild boar pate with melba toast and apricot chutney

Crispy halloumi, pickled carrot and clementine salad with a honey and mustard dressing


 Roast turkey with all the trimmings

Herb crusted cod fillet with parmentier potatoes and a clam velouté

Pot roasted venison with a horseradish dumpling, celeriac mash and juniper jus

Pork loin steak topped with stilton and walnut, boulangère potatoes and roasted apple

Wild mushroom, chestnut and cranberry wellington with a red pepper sauce


 Christmas pudding with brandy sauce

Syrup sponge with a vanilla crème anglaise

Chocolate and toasted hazelnut torte with Chantilly cream

Christmas mess with red berries, meringue and a pomegranate syrup

Poached pear with a pecan crumb and ginger ice cream
